I have now watched Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy.

Benedict Cumberbatch was NOT MY FAVORITE PART although he was indeed very genius.  Mark Strong was my favorite part.  Loved his character.

I managed to get ahold of the book and read it before I saw the film; this was very helpful.  The film elucidated some things from the book too.  Overall a very good relationship between the two.  Wish there had been a bit more of Roach.  And of Bland, and Alleline.  I know there’s a lovely deleted scene floating around with Guillam and Bland and I so wish it was in the finished film.  And personally I have been fond of Toby Jones since Amazing Grace.

But I just wanted to point out Benedict’s phone answering dance, now documented in two very different films.
